How to Install content from third party websites. Please note that this tutorial presumes that you have already downloaded the file in question.
When downloading a file from a third party website such as (#1TFM) or SI3D, the Content dispatcher packages (CDP's) are sometimes packed in a .zip or .rar file. The files you are looking for are compressed within them and as such need to be extracted from the archive. There are various ways to go about this. The most popular method is to use a program called 7-Zip. 7-Zip covers both file types aforementioned as well as provides support for various other file types and it it the free equivalent of the popular WinZip program. If you already own Winzip, there is no need to download 7-Zip 1. If the file you downloaded is a: a. CDP - Skip to step 6 b. .zip - Continue to step 2 c. .rar - Continue to step 2 2. If needed download and install 7-Zip.3. Once installed, Locate the file in which you downloaded.4. Right Click the file, Locate the 7-Zip Entry, then click "Extract to Here"5. The contained file(s) shall appear in the same location as the downloaded file.6.Launch Trainz, then Click content manager7. Content Manager shall appear8. Click: File--> Import CDP's9. In the box that appears, navigate to the location of the CDP file; Click the CDP; Then click "Open." Note: Hold down the "Ctrl" Key to select multiple CDP's at a time.10.
